We will remove a judgment automatically six years after the original judgment date.
We can also remove a judgment if we receive confirmation from The Registry Trust Limited that it can be removed. The courts will only allow removal of the judgment under the following circumstances:
- It was paid within one month and a Certificate of Satisfaction
or Cancellation has been issued
- It has been ‘set aside’ by the court
- An insurance company (related to the debt) is not paying a claim on time
You should contact the County Court concerned if you believe that the judgment was made in error and request that it should be ‘set aside’. If you wish to satisfy the CCJ then you will have to also request this via the County Court.
