A new risk calculator has been launched in an effort to help credit cardholders avoid becoming among the latest victims of the one of the fastest growing forms of criminal activity in the UK.
Financial services provider Morgan Stanley is behind the new calculator, which is being introduced to coincide with the beginning of National Identity Fraud Week.
Consumers can make use of the calculator to discover how at risk from ID fraudsters they are based on how they use their card and how they dispose of their personal information.
In addition, Morgan Stanley is offering a number of tips to credit cardholders, which should assist them in reducing their ID theft vulnerability.
These include not giving out card details over the phone, disposing carefully of receipts and when shopping online, consumers are advised only to trust secure websites.
Morgan Stanley explains in a statement that "using a green to red warning system the questionnaire gives respondents an accurate assessment of their risk".
Recent research found that people living in London were the most likely victims of ID fraud.
If you have been the victim of a financial scam ensure your credit rating has not been affected. Order your credit report now.
