Your credit rating is a numberical assesment used by lenders to help make decistions around the type or level of credit they will offer to you. Your credit rating is personal to you and generally reflects how well you have managed your credit commitments in the past. Your credit rating is used to predict how well you will continue to manage your credit commitments in the future.
Some lenders are more tolerant than others of adverse credit history details like county court judgments, bankruptcies or if you are behind in paying back existing credit agreements. Your credit rating will determine what type or level of credit you will be offered.
